I have always had a deep connection with animals. In the outdoors, I've had some truly cool and unique encounters with wild animals, and my foster pets and I build a bond from the very start.

My childhood dog was a dachshund, and I taught her to shake hands, sit, sit pretty on her hind legs, and roll over. She was wonderfully responsive and loyal to me. That kind of rapport is something I love to introduce to your pup — because relationships and bonding are at the heart of what we do at Mad Hatter Petcare. Lodgepole Ministries is very near and dear to my heart. I have felt a Call to God since I was 19 years old. I denied it for 39 years, but there is no refuting that Call any longer. Lodgepole Ministries is dedicated to bringing His will to light through meaningful ceremonies — whether for your wedding or baptism. In honoring Jesus, we also craft a variety of crosses, from a handmade 7'7" lodgepole cross to rustic crosses made from sticks. I hope you will see and feel my dedication to this mission!

When I was an infant, my Dad worked for Easter Seals — an organization that helps children with mental and physical disabilities and gives their parents a much-needed respite. My Dad used me to help with a boy named Keith, and I was only one year old at the time. He would promise Keith that Brad would come to visit on Friday if he behaved through the week. Keith had a mental and behavioral disorder, but with the duo of Dad and Brad, he was manageable. Mom would bring me in my bassinet, and Keith was just enamored with how small I was.

As I got older, Keith and I were able to play together — first supervised, then freely on our own. Before that, my Dad sat me down and said, "Keith is a big, strong boy. If he ever hurts you, you let me know." I told him, "Keith is my friend. He's good — Keith's a good boy." Dad asked if I understood that Keith's strength could hurt me even if he didn't mean to. I said I understood. He had a similar talk with Keith, and I saw that care in action one day when Keith was throwing medicine balls and one came close to me. Keith ran over, adamantly apologizing. He followed me around like I was something special, and that bond — built from love — grew into a beautiful friendship.

It was a symbiotic relationship, and we both learned from each other. I like to tell people that when I was two to five years old, my best friend was a thirteen- to sixteen-year-old boy named Keith who happened to have a mental disability. These are my roots. My main objective in life is to help people without prejudice — and to protect the innocence of children.
